The Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Jordanian FinTech Academy, as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships between the academic sector and specialized institutions in the field of financial technology.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Yarmouk University by its President, Professor Malek Al-Sharairy, and on behalf of the Jordanian FinTech Academy by Dr. Riyad Al-Hindawi. The agreement aims to develop cooperation in the areas of training, capacity building, and enhancing practical skills in financial technology and innovation.
This agreement seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application through the design of specialized training programs, as well as the implementation of workshops and professional diplomas, contributing to the preparation of qualified professionals capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in the financial and banking sectors.
On the sidelines of the signing, the Department of Finance and Banking Sciences organized a scientific seminar titled:
“The Role of the Jordanian FinTech Academy in Building Competencies and Innovation in Financial Technology.”
The seminar was delivered by Dr. Riyad Al-Hindawi, Director of the Banking Studies Institute and the Jordanian FinTech Academy, in the presence of the University President, the Dean of the Faculty Professor Yahya Bani Melhem, along with a number of faculty members and students.
The seminar, moderated by the Head of the Department Dr. Raed Hindawi, highlighted the importance of investing in human capital and the role of the FinTech Academy in preparing specialized professionals capable of keeping pace with digital transformation in the financial sector. It also reviewed the Academy’s efforts in offering training programs that combine theoretical and practical aspects, enhancing students’ opportunities for integration into the labor market.
Both parties emphasized the importance of this partnership in supporting an innovation-driven environment and strengthening integration between academic and professional institutions, thereby contributing to the advancement of applied education and meeting labor market needs in the field of financial technology.
With great pride, we extend our warmest congratulations to the team of Yarmouk University for securing second place in the local round of the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2026. This achievement reflects the high level of academic and professional excellence demonstrated by our students and highlights the quality of the outcomes of the Faculty of Business and its ability to compete effectively at the local level, paving the way for regional and international competition.
The competition is considered one of the most prominent global academic competitions in the field of financial analysis. It is organized annually under the supervision of the CFA Institute and aims to develop students’ skills in financial data analysis, company valuation, and the preparation of professional Equity Research Reports, as well as providing investment recommendations supported by quantitative and qualitative evidence. The competition also focuses on developing students’ professional presentation skills before a panel of judges composed of experts and specialists in the financial and investment sectors.
The Yarmouk University team underwent an intensive competitive experience that extended over several months and included:
* Conducting an in-depth financial analysis of the selected company.
* Developing a financial valuation model using advanced analytical tools.
* Preparing a professional research report in accordance with CFA Institute standards.
* Delivering a professional presentation and defending the investment recommendations before the judging panel.
This achievement is the result of continuous effort, organized teamwork, strong academic discipline, and a commitment to the highest standards of financial research and analysis based on the globally recognized CFA methodology.

A specialized academic lecture was held for students enrolled in the Procurement and Supply Chain Management course as part of the course activities. The lecture was organized by Dr. Lubna Baqleh, the course instructor, in cooperation with the Department of Business Administration at Yarmouk University. The session hosted Mr. Nabil Al-Janaideh, Director of the Supplies and Procurement Department at the University, as the keynote speaker.
During the lecture, Mr. Al-Janaideh discussed the concept of procurement and its strategic role within institutions, as well as the stages of supply chain management and their importance in enhancing operational efficiency and optimizing costs. He also shared insights drawn from his professional experience, supported by practical examples from real workplace practices.
The lecture witnessed active engagement and constructive discussion with the students, during which theoretical concepts were linked with practical applications, contributing to strengthening students’ knowledge and preparing them for the requirements of the labor market.
The Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University organized a workshop for its faculty members on the topic of course files, as part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of the educational process and improving teaching practices.
The workshop, delivered by Dr. Safaa Al-Samadi and Dr. Mohammad Al-Abwini from the Department of Accounting, aimed to clarify the requirements for preparing course files in accordance with approved academic standards, in a way that contributes to improving learning outcomes and ensuring their alignment with quality standards. The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members and featured active engagement and fruitful discussions on best practices for preparing and documenting course files.
This workshop is part of a series of activities implemented by the Faculty of Business to enhance the efficiency of the educational process and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement among faculty members.
Professor Yahia Melhem, Dean of the Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University, honored the university security staff working at the Faculty in appreciation of their dedicated efforts and their important role in maintaining the safety and security of the university campus.
During the recognition, the Dean praised their sincerity and commitment in performing their duties, emphasizing the importance of their work in providing a safe and stable educational environment for the students of the Faculty.
He also affirmed that their efforts constitute a fundamental pillar in ensuring a secure and stable learning environment for the students of the Faculty of Business.
The Business School at Yarmouk University extends its sincere congratulations and best wishes to Professor Nouh Al-Shiyab, faculty member in the Department of Economics, on the occasion of the Council of Ministers’ decision—based on the recommendation of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship—to renew his appointment as a full-time member of the Board of Commissioners of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission for a period of four years.
The Social Committee in the Department of Accounting at the Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University organized a communal iftar for international students from various nationalities. The event was held under the patronage of Professor Yahia Melhem, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and in coordination with Dr. Ma’moun Al-Shamali, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Sharia. The gathering took place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Al-Hussein Hall.
During the event, Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Sharman, Head of the Department of Accounting, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the department’s commitment to supporting the University’s policy of caring for international students and strengthening their integration into the university environment. He also noted that international students represent a valuable addition to the University through the cultural and intellectual diversity they bring. The speech concluded with a prayer delivered by Dr. Ma’moun Al-Shamali.
The event brought together more than 150 male and female students from different majors and nationalities, along with faculty members from the department and the Faculty, in a warm and friendly Ramadan atmosphere.
This initiative comes as part of the Department of Accounting’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and social bonds between students and faculty members, and to promote the values of solidarity and mutual support during the holy month of Ramadan, contributing to a supportive university environment that embraces cultural diversity and encourages positive interaction among students
