The Advisory Board of the Faculty of Business held its first meeting at the Faculty premises, chaired by the Dean, Professor Dr. Yahya Melhem, with the participation of representatives from the various departments of the Faculty and the Committee Secretary, Vice Dean Dr. Khaldoun Al-Daoud.
During the meeting, the Board discussed the development plan of the Faculty of Business as part of the Faculty’s strategy aimed at enhancing the quality of education, training, and scientific research, in line with the requirements of the local and regional labor markets.
The agenda included a presentation by the Faculty Dean on upcoming development programs, as well as proposals for updating academic curricula, activating practical training, and linking learning outcomes to market needs.
The Board also agreed to strengthen networking and partnerships with industrial and commercial institutions and entrepreneurs to expand opportunities for practical training, application, and employment, thereby preparing graduates with the skills required in the modern workplace.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Dr. Yahya Melhem expressed his gratitude to the Advisory Board members for their valuable feedback and active contributions to the Faculty’s development, emphasizing that the Committee’s recommendations will be integrated into the Faculty of Business’s future development implementation plan.
Dr. Khaled Qasem Heilat from the Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University participated in the activities of the 7th International Conference on Accounting, Business, Economics, and Politics (ICABEP 2025), which was held on October 29–30, 2025, at Tishk International University in the Kurdistan Region – Erbil.
The conference was organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University, and with the participation of several distinguished international universities, including the University of Szczecin (Poland), Salahaddin University (Erbil, Iraq), and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (Bulgaria), in addition to a select group of researchers and academics from various Arab and international universities.
Dr. Heilat’s participation, as a representative of Yarmouk University, came within the framework of strengthening joint academic and research cooperation between the University and the institutions organizing the conference.
During the conference, Dr. Khaled Heilat presented a research paper entitled:
“The Adoption of E-Learning: Master Students’ Perceptions in Jordan,”
which examined the reality of adopting e-learning from the perspective of master’s students in Jordanian universities, highlighting the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing digital learning in graduate programs.
In addition, Dr. Heilat participated as a speaker in the international workshop held on the sidelines of the conference entitled:
“SME Growth through Brand Identity and New Media: Practical Marketing for Emerging Markets.”
In his presentation, he addressed marketing strategies for small and medium-sized enterprises in emerging markets, and the role of brand identity and new media in enhancing their growth.
At the conclusion of the conference, Dr. Khaled Qasem Heilat was honored with two certificates of appreciation from Tishk International University, in recognition of his distinguished participation and valuable academic contributions that enriched the conference sessions and strengthened international academic cooperation.
The Accounting Department at the Faculty of Business organized an advisory workshop for Master’s program students who were transferred from the comprehensive track to the thesis track. The workshop aimed to clarify the requirements of the upcoming stage, explain the mechanisms for preparing a research proposal, and discuss key academic guidelines related to scientific theses.
During the workshop, the Head of the Department, Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Sharman, reviewed the most important academic instructions and procedures governing the thesis track, emphasizing the need to adhere to research standards and ensure the quality of academic outputs.
The workshop also featured a productive discussion between faculty members and students, during which students’ questions were addressed and relevant academic and procedural aspects related to thesis preparation were clarified.
The Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University organized a welcome meeting for new students for the academic year 2025/2026, attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Yahya Melhem, Vice Dean Dr. Khaldoun Al-Daoud, Assistant Dean for Quality Affairs Dr. Mohammad Abuwaini, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Dr. Saleh Al-Bazzi, department heads, faculty members, as well as representatives of the Student Union and students of the Faculty.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Melhem welcomed the new students, congratulating them on joining the Faculty of Business family, and emphasized that the university prioritizes its students by providing a stimulating academic environment that helps refine their skills and develop their scientific and practical abilities, in line with the demands of local, regional, and international labor markets.
He also highlighted the importance of adhering to university regulations and actively participating in both academic and extracurricular activities organized by the Faculty, as these contribute positively to building a well-rounded university personality and fostering a sense of belonging and responsibility.
Furthermore, the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Saleh Al-Bazzi, presented an introductory session that covered the Faculty’s establishment, its academic departments, bachelor’s and master’s programs, and the key academic and administrative services and guidelines that students need during their university journey.
The meeting included a discussion segment where the Dean, Vice Dean, Assistant Deans, and department heads addressed students’ inquiries regarding academic matters, study requirements, and registration procedures, affirming the Faculty’s commitment to supporting students and providing everything necessary for a successful university experience.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the students expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Faculty administration for organizing this introductory session, which helped familiarize them with university regulations and prepared them to begin their academic journey with confidence and clarity.

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Yahya Melhem, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and under the supervision of the Head of the Accounting Department, Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Sharman, the Training and Qualification Committee of the Accounting Department organized an awareness session in cooperation with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) – United Kingdom. The session was delivered by Mr. Ahmad Manzoor, the ACCA Regional Representative for the Middle East.
The workshop was conducted in two sessions. The first session was dedicated to faculty members of the department and was chaired by Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Sharman. It focused on discussing ways to enhance integration between academic programs and international professional certifications, as well as mechanisms for aligning curricula with labor market requirements.
The second session targeted students of the Faculty and was chaired by Dr. Safaa Al-Samadi. During this session, Mr. Ahmad Manzoor highlighted the key features of the ACCA qualification, the requirements for obtaining it, and its role in developing accountants’ career paths and enhancing their competitiveness at both the local and international levels.
Mr. Manzoor also offered a special discount for Accounting Department students interested in sitting for the ACCA examinations, including a 50% discount on registration fees and a 70% discount on examination fees per paper.
The event witnessed strong interaction from faculty members and students, who raised numerous questions regarding the benefits of the qualification and its future professional prospects.
At the conclusion of the session, Professor Dr. Yahya Melhem expressed his appreciation to Mr. Ahmad Manzoor for his participation, commending the Accounting Department for its outstanding efforts in organizing this high-quality activity, and reaffirming the Faculty’s commitment to strengthening academic and professional partnerships that serve both students and faculty members.
