The Faculty of Business held an extensive orientation meeting with expected graduating students, dedicated to discussing the requirements of the university proficiency (competency) exam and mechanisms for preparing for it. This comes as part of the faculty’s commitment to enhancing students’ readiness for the final stage of their academic journey.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Yahya Melhim, the Vice Dean Dr. Khaldoon Al-Daoud, Assistant Deans Dr. Lara Haddad and Dr. Mohammad Abweny, in addition to department heads and a number of faculty and administrative staff members.
In his remarks, the Dean emphasized the importance of the exam as a key indicator of learning outcomes, stressing the need for students to demonstrate seriousness and discipline in preparation, and to make the most of their university experience in building knowledge and skills that will reflect on their exam performance and future professional careers.
For her part, Dr. Lara Haddad reviewed the regulations and procedures of the exam, clarifying the organizational steps, schedules, and main topics covered by the exam, ensuring that students have a clear understanding of its requirements.
Dr. Khaldoon Al-Daoud and Dr. Mohammad Abweny also discussed the general nature and format of the exam questions, providing academic guidance to help students better understand and effectively address the exam requirements, in addition to responding to students’ inquiries and discussions.
The meeting concluded with an open discussion between students and faculty members, reflecting the faculty’s commitment to strengthening direct communication and providing the necessary academic and advisory support, thereby enabling students to successfully complete their graduation requirements with competence and excellence.
The Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Jordanian FinTech Academy, as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships between the academic sector and specialized institutions in the field of financial technology.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Yarmouk University by its President, Professor Malek Al-Sharairy, and on behalf of the Jordanian FinTech Academy by Dr. Riyad Al-Hindawi. The agreement aims to develop cooperation in the areas of training, capacity building, and enhancing practical skills in financial technology and innovation.
This agreement seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application through the design of specialized training programs, as well as the implementation of workshops and professional diplomas, contributing to the preparation of qualified professionals capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in the financial and banking sectors.
On the sidelines of the signing, the Department of Finance and Banking Sciences organized a scientific seminar titled: “The Role of the Jordanian FinTech Academy in Building Competencies and Innovation in Financial Technology.” The seminar was delivered by Dr. Riyad Al-Hindawi, Director of the Banking Studies Institute and the Jordanian FinTech Academy, in the presence of the University President, the Dean of the Faculty Professor Yahya Bani Melhem, along with a number of faculty members and students.
The seminar, moderated by the Head of the Department Dr. Raed Hindawi, highlighted the importance of investing in human capital and the role of the FinTech Academy in preparing specialized professionals capable of keeping pace with digital transformation in the financial sector. It also reviewed the Academy’s efforts in offering training programs that combine theoretical and practical aspects, enhancing students’ opportunities for integration into the labor market.
Both parties emphasized the importance of this partnership in supporting an innovation-driven environment and strengthening integration between academic and professional institutions, thereby contributing to the advancement of applied education and meeting labor market needs in the field of financial technology.

The Faculty of Business team achieved a well-deserved victory over the Faculty of Al-Hijjawi College of Technology Engineering team with a score of (4–3), in the five-a-side football championship organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university level, amid a competitive atmosphere and notable student attendance.
The match witnessed strong and outstanding performance from both teams, characterized by high intensity and excitement until the final moments, before the Faculty of Business team succeeded in securing the win.

The Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University organized a workshop for its faculty members on the topic of course files, as part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of the educational process and improving teaching practices.
The workshop, delivered by Dr. Safaa Al-Samadi and Dr. Mohammad Al-Abwini from the Department of Accounting, aimed to clarify the requirements for preparing course files in accordance with approved academic standards, in a way that contributes to improving learning outcomes and ensuring their alignment with quality standards. The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members and featured active engagement and fruitful discussions on best practices for preparing and documenting course files.
This workshop is part of a series of activities implemented by the Faculty of Business to enhance the efficiency of the educational process and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement among faculty members.
Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Malek A. Alsharairi, President of Yarmouk University, the Faculty of Business launched the “Green Day of the Faculty of Business” under the slogan “Plant a Seed and Leave a Legacy,” in an event that reflects the university’s strong commitment to environmental responsibility and the promotion of a culture of volunteerism. The event witnessed wide attendance from deans of faculties, academic and administrative staff members, and students.
In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Yahia Melhem, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the faculty’s vision of preparing environmentally conscious graduates capable of creating a sustainable positive impact, stressing that volunteer work represents a fundamental pillar in shaping the university student’s character.
For his part, His Excellency the University President, Prof. Malek A. Alsharairi, commended the efforts of the Faculty of Business in organizing this distinguished event, affirming that the university continues to support initiatives that promote the values of belonging and social responsibility, and contribute to creating a sustainable and environmentally friendly campus.
The event included volunteer activities such as removing weeds, cleaning the surroundings of the faculty, and planting trees—an applied step that embodies the slogan and translates values into real-life practice.
The event was hosted by Ms. Salsabeel Bani Atta, Head of the Faculty of Business Office, who managed the program in a professional manner that reflected a spirit of organization and excellence. She also voluntarily contributed ornamental plants and seedlings for planting during the Green Day activities. The event was organized in cooperation with Mr. Ali Al-Ali from the Faculty of Business Office.
At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their pride in being part of this initiative, emphasizing that such activities enhance teamwork spirit and reinforce the concepts of sustainability and collective action.
The Department of Marketing at the Faculty of Business, Yarmouk University, organized a seminar entitled “Job Market Readiness,” delivered by Mr. Zakaria Ammar from the Middle East Insurance Company, with wide participation from the faculty’s students.
The session was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Yihya Mulham, with the participation of Dr. Amjad Al-Amad from the Department of Marketing. They enriched the discussion with valuable contributions that enhanced audience engagement and helped achieve the seminar’s objectives.
The seminar was attended by the Head of the Department of Marketing, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Kilani, as well as faculty members from the department and the faculty. It addressed key skills and requirements needed for graduates to successfully enter the labor market, as well as the importance of developing personal and professional competencies in line with the demands of the modern business environment.
At the end of the seminar, an open discussion was held with students and attendees, during which their questions were answered and practical advice was provided to enhance their professional readiness.
The Social Committee in the Department of Accounting at the Faculty of Business at Yarmouk University organized a communal iftar for international students from various nationalities. The event was held under the patronage of Professor Yahia Melhem, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and in coordination with Dr. Ma’moun Al-Shamali, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Sharia. The gathering took place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Al-Hussein Hall.
During the event, Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Sharman, Head of the Department of Accounting, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the department’s commitment to supporting the University’s policy of caring for international students and strengthening their integration into the university environment. He also noted that international students represent a valuable addition to the University through the cultural and intellectual diversity they bring. The speech concluded with a prayer delivered by Dr. Ma’moun Al-Shamali.
The event brought together more than 150 male and female students from different majors and nationalities, along with faculty members from the department and the Faculty, in a warm and friendly Ramadan atmosphere.
This initiative comes as part of the Department of Accounting’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and social bonds between students and faculty members, and to promote the values of solidarity and mutual support during the holy month of Ramadan, contributing to a supportive university environment that embraces cultural diversity and encourages positive interaction among students
