As part of strengthening partnerships between Yarmouk University and the industrial sector, the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Dr. Yahya Melhem, and the Dean of the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, Professor Dr. Awad Al-Zaben, along with the Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, Dr. Ahmad Al-Momani, paid a visit to the Irbid Chamber of Industry. They were received by the Chamber’s Director, Mr. Nidal Al-Sadr, and the Director of Projects and Training, Ms. Hala Al-Saheb.
During the meeting, Mr. Nidal Al-Sadr delivered a presentation on the vital role played by the Chamber in supporting and developing industrial projects in the city of Irbid, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation with Yarmouk University—particularly with the Faculty of Business and the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology—given their essential role in supplying the industrial sector with qualified human resources and scientific and applied expertise.
For their part, Professor Dr. Yahya Melhem, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and Professor Dr. Awad Al-Zaben, Dean of the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, stressed the importance of building a genuine and sustainable partnership between the University and the Chamber of Industry. This would be achieved through forming joint committees to develop student training and employment opportunities, support faculty members’ projects, and organize courses and workshops that serve the university, the industrial sector, and the local community alike.
At the conclusion of the visit, it was agreed to prepare for a broader meeting at a later stage to discuss the terms of a joint memorandum of understanding between the Irbid Chamber of Industry and Yarmouk University, represented by the Faculty of Business and the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, in a manner that enhances joint academic and industrial cooperation.
