Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Dr. Yahya Melhem, the Training and Qualification Committee and the Social Committee of the Accounting Department at the Faculty of Business organized a celebration on the occasion of World Accounting Day on Tuesday, 11/11, at the Faculty of Business auditorium.

The ceremony opened with a speech by the Head of the Accounting Department, Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Sharman, in which he welcomed the guests and students and emphasized the importance of this occasion in highlighting the pivotal role of accountants in promoting transparency and supporting the business environment and economic development.

The event featured four entrepreneurs—graduates of the Faculty in the fields of accounting and finance—who shared their experiences and professional journeys with the audience, stressing the importance of integrating academic knowledge with practical experience in building a successful career.

During the ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Dr. Yahya Melhem, honored a group of department students who had obtained accredited professional certifications in accounting. He also presented appreciation shields to the guest speakers in recognition of their valuable contributions.

The event was attended by faculty members of the Accounting Department and the Faculty of Business, along with a large number of students who showed notable engagement with the program and the speakers’ discussions.

This celebration comes as part of the Accounting Department’s efforts to strengthen communication with students and alumni, and to highlight the importance of the accounting profession and its vital role in supporting the national economy.
